The new edition of The Noerr-Pennington Doctrine written by the ABA’s Antitrust Law Section has now been added to the San Bernardino County Law Library’s collection. The Noerr-Pennington Doctrine proclaims that private businesses are immune from any “alleged antitrust violations…to influence government action.” As a handbook, this title utilizes the research prepared by members of the Antitrust Law Section to analyze various matters relating to the doctrine. The book defines the doctrine, highlights cases that built the doctrine to how it has become today, discusses its implications with the first amendment right to freedom of speech, examines petitioning, examines the effects of government and types with the doctrine, reveals any exceptions to immunity, and talks about the intersection of the doctrine on realistic law settings.
